1.00ASAP's abuse-prevention program is being used to ensure healthly physical and behavorial interactions and safety. It includes a Director's Guide, screening protocol, staff training - animated videos and a test for certification and guidelines for parents. It raises the standards of camps and camp staff in a respectful and innovative way and reduces liability. By providing trainings and implementing safety measures, camps will be sending a message to counselors, campers, and parents that they are educated, aware, and will not tolerate abuse.
Learner Outcomes:
- Administrators, counselors, and staff will have an increased awareness about the signs of sexual abuse, the ability to identify children who are struggling, and the tools to get them the professional help they need.
- Safety protocol will be implemented throughout camp to ensure proper boundaries are maintained and that staff and campers are not at risk. Potential perpetrators will be deterred from joining camp or perpetrating.
- Parents will be informed about child sexual abuse, the tools to speak to their children in preparation for camp, and the awareness of how to respond in case boundaries are violated.
ASAP is offering the training to all camp staff at a heavily subsidized rate of up to $150 per camp.
Join the thousands that are already certified with this online program and secure your camp as well. Your staff will come to camp screened, trained, and committed to upholding camp safety standards.
